Requirements
- Have 10+ years of Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Dynamics 365 Business Central development experience, including strong recent hands-on Business Central experience.
- Have strong expertise in Application Language (AL) and developing Business Central extensions.
- Understand Business Central architecture, application objects, data structures, the extension model, and the development lifecycle.
- Have hands-on experience developing tables, pages, codeunits, reports, queries, APIs, and extensions.
- Have experience designing and implementing integrations using REST APIs, web services, JSON, or similar technologies.
- Have strong experience with Visual Studio Code and AL development tooling, including debugging and troubleshooting.
- Have experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD; Azure DevOps or GitHub experience is preferred.
- Have experience with Business Central upgrades, version management, and extension maintenance.
- Understand software engineering principles including clean code, testing, maintainability, performance, and documentation.
- Be able to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Be able to work independently, take ownership of development activities, and collaborate with technical and non-technical colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Business Central solutions and extensions using AL.
- Build new functionality and enhance existing Business Central applications.
- Develop and maintain tables, table extensions, pages, page extensions, codeunits, reports, queries, APIs, and other AL objects.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable Business Central solutions.
- Design and maintain integrations with other systems, applications, and services using APIs and web services.
- Develop automation and improve business processes and workflows within Business Central.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and optimize performance and reliability.
- Manage development, testing, releases, upgrades, and deployments for Business Central solutions.
- Apply Business Central and AL development best practices, including clean code, extension-based architecture, documentation, and source control.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities and help define technical standards for the Business Central environment.
