Requirements
- Hold a BA/BS in life sciences, or a BA/BS in English combined with 2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical agency, medical communications company, or healthcare advertising.
- Have a minimum of 1 year of medical writing experience in a pharmaceutical agency, medical communications company, or healthcare advertising.
- Know American Medical Association (AMA) style.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Be familiar with scientific search engines including PubMed and Google Scholar.
- Be able to prioritize deadline-sensitive projects and manage competing client priorities.
- Preferred: expertise gathering, evaluating, and summarizing healthcare business and scientific literature and insights data for managed care audiences.
- Preferred: working knowledge of managed markets, healthcare, the healthcare delivery system, health reform legislation, or managed care.
- Preferred: experience supporting pharmaceutical patient support programs, including patient hubs and financial assistance offerings.
Responsibilities
- Develop medically accurate content in print or digital formats for medical communication resources.
- Deliver requested projects within established timelines.
- Conduct literature reviews and develop annotations to support promotional claims.
- Work with account teams to refine content in keeping with strategic imperatives.
- Communicate medical content to internal teams and pharmaceutical clients as needed.
- Attend medical, legal, and regulatory review meetings as needed.
- Participate in project kick-off, status, client, and internal brainstorm and review meetings.
- Contribute ideas for tactical planning within assigned accounts.
