Requirements
- Bring 8+ years of data engineering experience, including time at Staff or lead level owning a platform used by multiple teams.
- Have deep experience with SQL and Python.
- Bring strong database fundamentals in a modern analytical warehouse such as Snowflake or BigQuery, including schema design, query plans, and distributed computing.
- Have deep experience with dbt or an adjacent transformation framework such as SQLMesh or Dataform.
- Have experience with ETL orchestration such as Fivetran or Airflow.
- Have experience with infrastructure as code and container orchestration on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Demonstrate agentic engineering beyond prompting, including running coding agents in loops checked by specifications and tests.
- Have written design documents that settled cross-team architecture questions and communicate clearly with non-technical partners.
- Have working knowledge of API design, authentication and authorization such as OAuth/OIDC and RBAC, and PII handling.
- Knowledge of reporting tools such as Looker and Hex is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Build and own data products that provide trustworthy data from bronze to gold for analysts, engineers, product teams, partners, and AI tools.
- Shape semantic context, documentation, and interfaces so agents use governed definitions and answers trace back to source.
- Implement classification, masking, access policy, and change control as code, and prepare the platform for SOC 2 and related audits.
- Operate ingestion and orchestration as code, with CI/CD, observability, alerting, and SLAs.
- Partner with finance, operations, product, and engineering to understand evolving data requirements.
- Design and operate secure, authorized, low-latency interfaces for products, partners, and agents to consume data.
- Review code, mentor teammates, and provide engineering teams with templates and CI checks for trusted data.
