Requirements
- Have 3+ years of practical experience building, customizing, and deploying software in a collaborative environment.
- Be proficient in SQL and relational databases, with an appetite for working with large-scale, messy data.
- Have experience writing code and scripts in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages.
- Have experience scoping technical projects, defining product requirements, or translating business or policy needs into technical solutions.
- Have experience in a customer-facing and/or cross-functional role and be able to explain technical concepts to engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Be comfortable working through ambiguity and exploring, experimenting, and documenting solutions in complex legacy environments.
- Be willing to travel occasionally to partner states.
- Have a bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: experience with government technology, legacy enterprise systems, or regulated data such as CJIS or HIPAA.
- Preferred: experience building or managing data pipelines or using ETL tools.
- Preferred: familiarity with GCP, AWS, or Azure cloud environments.
- Preferred: experience with React and full-stack app development, or familiarity with Claude, Cursor, or Copilot.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with state agency leadership and IT staff to understand policy objectives and system constraints.
- Translate partner needs into technical approaches and deployment roadmaps.
- Untangle messy data and legacy systems using scripts and technical solutions.
- Scope, adapt, and integrate Recidiviz's data platform and products into partner environments.
- Translate deployment challenges into insights for product, design, and engineering teams.
- Contribute code to make Recidiviz's platform and products more scalable and configurable.
- Engage with customer stakeholders, including database administrators and agency executives.
- Travel to state partners on-site (10%) to scope projects, build relationships, and address technical hurdles.
