Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically, at least five years of relevant professional experience, or three years combined with an advanced degree.
- Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, C#, or a comparable language.
- Experience building, deploying, and supporting production software, data systems, or workflow automation.
- Hands-on experience building or integrating AI-enabled workflows, agents, or automations, including prompt and tool design, evaluations, human review, and sensitive-data safeguards.
- Experience shipping at least one production AI or agent-based system that is adopted by another team, actively used, measurable, and supported.
- In-depth understanding of software design, testing, cloud-native deployment, monitoring, production support, version control, code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration and delivery.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data structures, caching, data quality, and optimizing data access or application performance.
- Practical knowledge of REST API best practices, webhooks, authentication and authorization protocols, business application integrations, and systems of record.
- Experience with unit, integration, or UI automation tests, or evaluations for AI-enabled workflows, and familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting production systems.
- Understanding of secure development, access controls, data privacy, operational reliability, and responsible AI practices.
- Willingness to participate in production support activities or an on-call rotation when required.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery with business and functional stakeholders, translating workflows and objectives into technical requirements, implementation plans, and acceptance criteria.
- Design, build, test, and deploy AI agents, automations, dashboards, data pipelines, integrations, and workflow tools.
- Own solutions from discovery and prototyping through deployment, adoption, production support, and ongoing optimization.
- Write, review, and maintain clean, tested, documented production code that supports reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Connect business applications, relational databases, systems of record, and internal AI capabilities using secure integration approaches.
- Develop reusable libraries, connectors, workflow components, evaluation frameworks, templates, and implementation guides.
- Implement evaluations, human-in-the-loop controls, privacy safeguards, monitoring, observability, and security measures for AI-enabled workflows.
- Configure environments, monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and participate in on-call support when required.
- Track usage, adoption, time savings, quality, and performance to prioritize improvements with stakeholders.
- Improve shared AI capabilities and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and business teams.
