Requirements
- Have 5-7+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience in production environments.
- Have AWS Serverless experience, or expertise in Containers; implementation experience is required, while support or DevOps experience alone is not relevant.
- Have AWS Containers experience, or expertise in Serverless; implementation experience is required, while support or DevOps experience alone is not relevant.
- Have implementation experience with several AWS services, such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, Kinesis, Cognito, Service Catalog, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, EventBridge, S3, RDS, or Step Functions.
- Have implementation experience with container technologies such as Docker, ECS Fargate, ECR, or EFS.
- Have experience with event-driven architecture patterns such as SNS, SQS, or EventBridge.
- Have scripting knowledge in at least one of JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, or Python, or extensive software development experience.
- AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, are preferred.
- CloudFormation, CDK, Liquibase, GitHub Actions, reusable workflows, and software development experience are nice to have.
- Experience designing and implementing end-to-end AWS-based PoC/MVP solutions is nice to have.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using compute, networking, storage, serverless, and managed platform services.
- Review AWS architectures for scalability, security, governance, and cost efficiency.
- Maintain reusable cloud patterns, foundational components, and reference architectures.
- Troubleshoot and maintain infrastructure as code using CloudFormation and CDK.
- Develop reusable IaC modules and templates and maintain Rego policies for security, governance, and compliance.
- Maintain AWS IAM authentication and authorization models and collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams on design reviews.
- Implement and optimize monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch and related AWS observability services.
- Optimize AWS workloads for performance, scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency, and support operational readiness, including backup and recovery.
- Partner with software engineering teams on cloud onboarding, implementation practices, architecture decisions, and AWS solutions.
