Requirements
- Have at least 3 years of experience as a Shopify developer.
- Bring hands-on technical SEO experience, including schema markup and metadata.
- Have a strong command of Shopify themes and Liquid code.
- Have a proven track record running site audits and fixing broken links.
- Be able to use SEMrush or a similar SEO tool.
- Have experience optimizing sites for AI search; this is preferred.
- Have conversational business English and clear written communication.
- Be able to explain technical changes in plain language to a non-technical team.
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Bring strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Add and correct schema markup on each page directly in the Shopify theme.
- Ensure page titles, meta descriptions, and other metadata are complete and correct.
- Implement the client's SEO and AI search recommendations on the site.
- Run weekly technical SEO audits in SEMrush.
- Find and fix broken and outdated links, including broken backlinks.
- Confirm with the client where pages with broken links should point.
- Keep Shopify apps updated and working, and remove or replace apps that slow down the site.
- Edit the Shopify theme and add new pages.
- Check that site features such as inventory work correctly and connect to the client's marketing tools.
- Work with the client's web designer to build designs into the existing Shopify theme.
