Professional experience in backend software development, including building, maintaining, and evolving APIs and microservices.
Strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js, or ability to work independently with equivalent technologies and adapt to a new stack.
Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Cloud Functions.
Knowledge of REST APIs and GraphQL.
Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices and infrastructure as code.
Ability to participate in and guide architecture and system design discussions and make sound technical decisions.
Experience supporting production systems, coordinating incident responses, investigating root causes, and following corrective actions through completion.
Practical use of generative AI tools in software engineering, with the judgment to review, test, and validate outputs.
Clear communication and ability to collaborate across disciplines and seniority levels.
Strong ownership, autonomy, and problem-solving skills, with commitment to code quality and continuous learning.
Willingness to support colleagues, share technical context, and help maintain delivery momentum without formal people-management responsibilities.

Develop, test, instrument, document, and maintain backend microservices and APIs.
Contribute to architecture and system design decisions, evaluate alternatives, and communicate technical trade-offs.
Lead or support technical refinement and planning, identifying dependencies, risks, and implementation strategies.
Break complex initiatives into manageable deliverables and help track execution and progress.
Resolve technical blockers and coordinate risks and dependencies across project workstreams.
Coordinate responses to live-system incidents and track corrective actions through resolution.
Mentor junior engineers through problem-solving, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and feedback.
Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, and client teams to develop solutions.
Contribute to CI/CD practices, infrastructure as code, and engineering workflow improvements.
Use generative AI tools in software development and review, test, and validate their outputs.
