Requirements
- Have 4+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in SQL.
- Be proficient in at least one programming language commonly used for data engineering, such as Python, Scala, or Java.
- Have hands-on experience building and operating ETL/ELT pipelines in a production environment.
- Have experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Have experience with modern data warehousing tools.
- Understand data modeling, data quality, and pipeline orchestration concepts.
- Be comfortable working with large, complex datasets and diagnosing data issues independently.
- Ideally, have experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster, streaming technologies such as Kafka or Kinesis, dbt or similar transformation frameworks, or infrastructure-as-code practices such as Terraform.
- Prior experience directly supporting analytics or data science teams is also beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver data from internal and external sources.
- Develop and optimize data models and schemas for analytics, reporting, and downstream application needs.
- Monitor pipeline health and troubleshoot data quality issues.
- Implement alerting and observability practices.
- Partner with analytics, product, and engineering teams to translate data needs into durable data solutions.
- Improve the performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of existing data infrastructure.
- Write clear technical documentation.
- Contribute to team standards for testing, code review, and deployment.
- Participate in on-call or incident response rotations as needed to support production data systems.
