Requirements
- Hold a B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Have 5 years of experience with Oracle databases.
- Have knowledge of Oracle Database 10g, 11g, and 12c.
- Have knowledge of Oracle Middleware (WebLogic) 11g/12c and Oracle PSU patching.
- Have knowledge of Oracle database performance tuning.
- Have knowledge of Oracle Active Data Guard.
- Have knowledge of Oracle database backups using Recovery Manager (RMAN).
- Have knowledge of Oracle table partitioning and the Oracle Export/Import Utility.
- Have knowledge of Linux shell scripting and PostgreSQL RDBMS.
Responsibilities
- Administer Oracle databases and participate in daily operations for customer databases.
- Monitor production, test, and development database environments and address performance, scalability, availability, and security issues.
- Analyze Oracle AWR, ADDM, and ASH reports to tune database performance.
- Configure and support Physical Standby (Active Data Guard) databases and failover/switchover mechanisms.
- Configure Oracle database backups using Recovery Manager (RMAN) for disaster recovery.
- Plan database refreshes from production to non-production environments.
- Develop migration plans for moving Oracle databases from on-premises environments to AWS.
- Manage database users, roles, privileges, partitioning, and export/import migrations.
- Provide technical support to customers and participate in the Managed Services on-call rotation.
