Job Details
- Experience
- 6+ years in computational geometry, CAD kernel or geometry-processing development
- Required Skills
- PythonC++
Requirements
- Have 6+ years in computational geometry, CAD kernel, or geometry-processing development, with work to show.
- Bring B-rep kernel depth, including kernel internals and underlying mathematics; experience with Parasolid, ACIS, or an equivalent is specified.
- Have experience with implicit modeling and signed distance fields, including conversion between implicit, B-rep, and mesh representations.
- Know computational geometry on meshes, including booleans, watertight repair, remeshing, collision, and robust predicates.
- Have finite-element analysis or equivalent physics-based verification experience, including meshing for analysis and solver integration, in production or research.
- Use Python and C++.
- Have shipped production geometry software or published geometry research.
- Topology optimization and physics-driven generative design are strong pluses.
- Rust is a strong plus.
- Experience with feature trees, history-based modeling internals, or feature recognition on B-rep is beneficial.
- Experience with 2D constraint solvers is beneficial.
- Additive or subtractive manufacturing process knowledge, slicing, toolpaths, or design for manufacturing is beneficial.
- GPU geometry using CUDA or OpenCL, differentiable geometry, and contributions to open-source geometry kernels or libraries are beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Build methods that generate manufacturable CAD from intent across B-rep, implicit, and mesh representations.
- Integrate meshing, finite-element analysis, and physics-based verification into geometry generation.
- Build pipelines and tools to analyze CAD and mesh files, including feature and tolerance extraction, manufacturability checks, and repair to watertight.
- Own exact geometry interchange and assemblies across STEP, IGES, 3MF, and mesh formats, including joints, motion, and collision.
- Research computational geometry methods, prototype promising approaches, and write recommendations on what to build next.
- Set conventions for tolerances, performance, and correctness.
