Requirements
- Have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Have 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Bring professional experience building and operating production software across backend and frontend layers.
- Have experience developing backend services in a modern language such as Go, Rust, Python, Java, or TypeScript.
- Have experience building frontend applications with modern frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Have experience working with SQL-based relational databases in production.
- Have experience building backend services on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Have familiarity with Docker and containerized applications.
- Understand APIs, service-oriented architectures, data modeling, and engineering tradeoffs for scalable product systems.
- Be able to drive substantial work from an unclear problem statement through delivery and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Have experience mentoring engineers through code reviews, design collaboration, or technical guidance.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship product capabilities across backend services, APIs, and modern web application interfaces.
- Own moderate-to-large projects from scoping and technical design through implementation, rollout, and iteration.
- Implement user-facing experiences aligned with product requirements and design direction.
- Partner with Product, Design, and adjacent engineering teams on cross-functional initiatives.
- Identify and resolve technical risks, blockers, and mis-scoped work.
- Contribute to architecture and design discussions focused on maintainability, operability, and team productivity.
- Write code, tests, and technical documentation, and provide code reviews.
- Support and mentor less experienced engineers through feedback, onboarding, and collaboration.
