Requirements
- Have 8+ years of experience building backend services and APIs.
- Have extensive experience with an object-oriented language such as Java or Kotlin.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of testing, quality, and best practices.
- Have experience shipping production services.
- Have experience balancing delivery with platform stability and reliability.
- Have experience building backend services and APIs and scaling distributed systems.
- Experience building Android applications with Kotlin is a plus.
- Experience building front-end applications is a plus.
- Be focused on delivering positive impact for Toast customers.
- Enjoy working in a team environment with a shared codebase.
- Have excellent cross-team communication skills on complex technical topics.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain highly resilient and scalable features across Toast’s Sports & Entertainment product offerings.
- Lead complex projects that improve functionality and reliability for customers.
- Partner with teams across Toast to deliver features and technical work.
- Build automated tests to ensure the quality of changes.
- Roll features out to customers and monitor their success.
- Partner with Design and Product on feature definition and design.
- Coordinate with Customer Success, Solutions, Sales, Care, and Onboarding to align deliverables with enterprise customer expectations and long-term strategy.
- Mentor and coach other engineers.
- Use AI tools to enhance development workflows and explore new approaches to building.
