- Have 3+ years of dermatology billing/AR experience.
- Bring strong ICD-10, DRG, and CPT knowledge.
- Have strong knowledge of coding modifiers.
- Be proficient with billing software and EHR systems.
- Take ownership of work and be able to work independently.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with providers, payers, and patients.
- Coding certification is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Investigate rejected, denied, or underpaid claims, correct coding errors, appeal when appropriate, and help prevent repeat issues.
- Monitor aging reports, track outstanding balances, and reconcile accounts receivable.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and patient balances.
- Handle patient billing questions professionally.
- Collaborate with providers to improve documentation accuracy.
- Maintain organized, confidential billing records.
- Track payer changes and stay current on coding updates.
