Requirements
- Have 3+ years of hands-on production experience designing, provisioning, operating, and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure.
- Have deep practical knowledge of GCP networking, including VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, routing, Cloud NAT, Cloud DNS, and Cloud Load Balancing.
- Have experience managing GCP projects, IAM policies, service accounts, and infrastructure security configurations.
- Have 3+ years of hands-on experience operating production Kubernetes clusters, preferably GKE.
- Have direct experience provisioning, administering, upgrading, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters.
- Understand Kubernetes architecture and internals, including control planes, worker nodes, scheduling, networking, services, ingress, storage, and resource management.
- Have experience managing node pools, autoscaling, resource requests and limits, cluster capacity, and Kubernetes version upgrades.
- Have experience using kubectl, Helm, and Kubernetes monitoring and diagnostic utilities.
- Have 3+ years of professional experience using Terraform to provision and manage production cloud infrastructure.
- Have experience developing reusable Terraform modules, managing remote state, and implementing safe infrastructure change processes.
- Have scripting and automation skills using Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages, and experience with Git-based infrastructure workflows, code reviews, and automated validation.
- Have strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting skills, plus knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, routing, firewalls, and load balancing.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and maintain production infrastructure on GCP, including GKE, VPC networking, load balancers, Cloud DNS, and IAM.
- Own Kubernetes cluster architecture and lifecycle, including provisioning, upgrades, node pools, autoscaling, networking, and capacity planning.
- Develop and maintain Terraform modules, infrastructure-as-code frameworks, and automated provisioning workflows.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across Kubernetes, Linux, networking, DNS, cloud services, and distributed systems.
- Design and maintain GCP networking, including VPCs, subnetworks, firewall rules, routing, NAT, and load balancing.
- Build and improve infrastructure observability using Prometheus, logging, metrics, and alerting.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure security controls, including IAM policies, service accounts, secrets management, and least-privilege access.
- Drive infrastructure reliability, scalability, performance, and cost optimization across the GCP environment.
- Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and architectural improvements while minimizing production risk.
- Partner with Platform Engineering, SRE, and Security teams; participate in design reviews and mentor engineers.
