Requirements
- Experience in inside sales, customer service, order processing, account support, or project coordination is preferred.
- Receive, review, and process customer purchase orders accurately.
- Coordinate order timing, scheduling, delivery expectations, and follow-up.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and a professional approach to customer questions and concerns.
- Manage multiple customer orders, projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Maintain high attention to detail in order processing, customer information, and recordkeeping.
- Work independently and remain productive in a remote work environment.
- Use Microsoft Excel, email, and general business software proficiently.
- Adapt to changing priorities, customer needs, and order timelines.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
- Work approximately 40 or more hours per week, generally from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; occasional evening, weekend, or extended hours may be required.
- Previous steel or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide responsive customer service throughout the order lifecycle.
- Verify customer information, product details, and order requirements.
- Communicate order status, shipping updates, holds, delays, and other issues.
- Release orders to logistics when appropriate and coordinate with sales, operations, and logistics teams.
- Manage customer expectations when schedules or deadlines change.
- Balance customer requests with production and operational needs.
- Maintain accurate customer, order, and transaction information.
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
