Requirements
- Have five or more years in IT or software in roles involving how production systems are built, deployed, secured, and operated.
- Have at least one year directing AI coding agents to ship production software, with examples of requests, agent errors, how you caught them, and preventive changes.
- Have two or more years of product ownership or technical product management, including backlog ownership, specification writing, prioritization, and accountability for outcomes.
- Demonstrate discipline in verifying claims against the system and describe how you discovered that a confident source was wrong.
- Be fluent in GitHub, including pull requests, CI, branch protection, merge conflicts, and force-with-lease.
- Be fluent in a hosting platform such as Vercel and a relational database such as Postgres.
- Be able to read SQL and code diffs critically, even though you will not author the code.
- Write clear, plain English specifications, rules, and one-page recommendations.
- Be comfortable being accountable for work you did not type and escalating decisions that are not yours.
- Preferred: experience with Next.js, React, Prisma, Postgres row-level security, OAuth, or a columnar analytics warehouse.
- Preferred: experience evaluating AI models for production, including A/B measurement, calibration, and cost per output.
- Preferred: security and privacy judgment, product marketing or editorial experience, or experience in IT training, certification, e-learning, or assessment design.
Responsibilities
- Learn the CBT Nuggets business and use the warehouse and CRM to verify business data.
- Own a product backlog and turn product intent into precise specifications for AI agents.
- Direct AI coding agents through specification, implementation, review, testing, documentation, pull requests, CI, and production verification.
- Review every diff critically and identify over-claims in agent-written summaries.
- Operate repositories, including branch protection, required checks, rebases, attestations, dependency advisories, environment variables, crons, feature flags, and deployments.
- Keep operator documentation accurate, updating it alongside changes that alter behavior.
- Write durable, dated operating rules from lessons learned and retire stale rules.
- Investigate production incidents using logs, metrics, and the database, and document what happened and how to prevent recurrence.
- Measure before making claims, date each reading, and record when an earlier reading was wrong.
- Reduce friction for teammates by building pages with buttons for decisions or labeling tasks that need human input.
