Requirements
- Bring a strong professional background in network engineering and network security.
- Understand TCP/IP, routing, subnetting, Network Address Translation (NAT), DNS, and application connectivity.
- Have experience engineering, implementing, configuring, or supporting enterprise firewall and network security technologies.
- Have practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, infrastructure automation, configuration management, and version-controlled infrastructure workflows.
- Have hands-on scripting and automation experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.
- Have experience using REST APIs or other programmatic interfaces for infrastructure automation and operations.
- Have experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control tools, and Git-based development practices.
- Be able to automate infrastructure changes, validation, health checks, monitoring, data collection, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Be able to investigate complex network and security issues and implement reliable solutions.
- Be able to take ownership of projects and deliver implementation and validation with limited supervision.
- Preferred: experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, Panorama, or comparable enterprise firewall management platforms.
- Preferred: experience with Red Hat Ansible, public cloud environments, VPNs, network segmentation, load balancing, and CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
Responsibilities
- Engineer, configure, support, and maintain enterprise network security platforms, including Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama.
- Design, implement, test, and validate network security solutions across enterprise infrastructure and cloud environments.
- Diagnose and resolve network, firewall, routing, connectivity, DNS, and application communication issues.
- Develop and maintain automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, APIs, Infrastructure as Code, and configuration management tools.
- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment, configuration management, testing, and validation.
- Develop automated pre-change and post-change validation, health checks, monitoring, and reporting.
- Integrate network security platforms with monitoring systems, deployment tools, and operational technologies.
- Support platform upgrades, vulnerability remediation, technology refreshes, and modernization initiatives.
- Collaborate with networking, cloud, cybersecurity, and application teams on secure infrastructure solutions.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, scripts, and automation frameworks.
