Requirements
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent qualification.
- Have at least 10 years of hands-on software design and development experience.
- Bring strong expertise in Java, Python, and Linux.
- Have deep experience with low-latency messaging systems such as 29West or Kafka.
- Be proficient in KDB+ or other time-series databases.
- Have a strong background in scalable, distributed, asynchronous, and event-driven application development.
- Understand low-latency design patterns and performance optimization techniques.
- Have experience with capital markets or brokerage systems, particularly order management platforms.
- Understand the FIX protocol and FIX engines.
- Have experience using AI-assisted developer tools such as GitHub Copilot.
- Be familiar with CI/CD and build tools including GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Artifactory, and uDeploy.
- Have hands-on experience deploying applications to AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Be willing to support production systems through a weekly on-call rotation, including occasional weekend coverage.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop distributed, event-driven trading systems optimized for low latency and high throughput.
- Build and maintain asynchronous processing frameworks and resilient messaging services for trading operations.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver end-to-end trading workflows.
- Tune and optimize platform performance, resolving latency, scalability, and resilience bottlenecks.
- Implement solutions using Java, Python, Linux, and distributed systems technologies.
- Work with low-latency messaging platforms and time-series databases for trading workloads and data processing.
- Develop and maintain capital markets and brokerage applications, including order management systems and FIX-based integrations.
- Support application delivery through CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment, and cloud infrastructure.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering standards and best practices.
- Provide operational support for production and non-production environments, including weekly on-call and occasional weekend support.
