Requirements
- Bring 8+ years of software engineering experience, including experience as a staff/principal engineer or architect in a SaaS company.
- Have deep backend expertise in Laravel 10+ and PHP 8+, or similar languages.
- Have experience with SQL/relational databases, caching, and RESTful APIs.
- Bring frontend design and architecture experience with React/Next.js.
- Have experience with scalable, secure cloud infrastructure; AWS is required.
- Be familiar with event-driven or modular architectures and containerized environments such as EKS/Kubernetes.
- Understand software testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines.
- Have experience delivering feature velocity using tools or methods such as Copilot, Gemini, test automation, or scaffolding.
- Be able to build AI-augmented product experiences using LLM APIs and prompt design.
- Lead by example in test strategy and validation, and own test coverage, pipeline health, and regression control.
Responsibilities
- Own architecture and technical direction for core platform domains used by both product squads.
- Design, code, review, pair, and debug in Laravel, Next.js, and cloud environments.
- Lead technical discovery and delivery of high-impact initiatives that cross team boundaries or require architectural change.
- Define and document architectural principles, coding standards, and patterns for scalable, resilient, observable systems.
- Improve quality through shift-left testing, CI/CD improvements, production observability, and test design.
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through design reviews, pairing, and feedback.
- Evaluate and prototype technologies such as Vertex AI, GenAI workflows, and data pipelines.
- Contribute technical guidance to roadmap planning, estimation, and trade-off decisions.
