Requirements
- Provide a portfolio or case study showing senior-level design work on developer tools, AI/LLM products, coding agents, or other technical, data-heavy SaaS platforms.
- Demonstrate a track record of owning research end-to-end and using it to influence product direction.
- Be comfortable working directly with AI-assisted development workflows such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.
- Show genuine interest in staying hands-on with the codebase rather than only handing off specifications.
- Demonstrate the ability to make and defend decisions under ambiguity without relying on a fixed process.
- Have experience designing for technical, engineering-savvy users.
- Be able to discuss APIs, architecture, and system constraints with engineers.
- Write short, clear documents and communicate effectively asynchronously.
- Nice to have: experience designing CLI or terminal-based interfaces.
- Nice to have: familiarity with desktop app design.
- Nice to have: experience presenting design and research findings directly to executive stakeholders.
- Include a portfolio highlighting design expertise and work on SaaS platforms, data visualization tools, or similar data-heavy applications.
Responsibilities
- Own problems end-to-end across the Kimchi CLI, desktop app, inference and spend console, or developer tooling, from research through shipped design and measured outcome.
- Plan and run user research, synthesize findings, and use them to make a case for what the product should do next.
- Prototype in code using AI-assisted workflows to test ideas directly in the product.
- Contribute to product strategy with a point of view backed by product usage, research evidence, and competitor awareness.
- Participate in cross-squad design reviews to identify overlap and raise design quality.
- Track design debt in your area and advocate for prioritizing it when risk factors or user feedback make it urgent.
