Requirements
- Have a minimum of three years of professional experience providing legal translation and/or editing services.
- Have native-level Japanese writing skills.
- Have native-level English writing skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of U.S. legal, judicial, and technical terminology in English and Japanese.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in a foreign language, linguistics, translation, or a comparable field.
- Have experience using computer-assisted translation tools.
- Trados experience is preferred.
- Be generally available between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on most weekdays.
- Be able to accept on-demand assignments totaling approximately 10 to 15 hours per week, as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide English-to-Japanese legal translation services.
- Edit English-to-Japanese legal translations.
- Apply legal, judicial, and technical terminology in English and Japanese.
- Accept on-demand assignments on an ongoing, as-needed basis.
