Requirements
- Hold a JD from an ABA-approved school.
- Maintain an active Florida Bar license.
- Have 8+ years of solid litigation experience, including litigation support, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Bring experience handling insurance defense matters; this is preferred.
- Be able to manage full case-handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial.
- Have substantive experience in discovery and motion practice.
- Demonstrate strong legal writing; Law Review or another record of exceptional legal research and writing is particularly attractive.
- Have experience with time management systems.
- Be proficient in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Be able to think and act independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Develop compelling case themes.
- Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials.
- Manage case handling, including discovery and trial preparation.
- Work as part of a team with attorneys at all experience levels.
- Communicate routinely with clients.
- Cultivate relationships with existing and future clients.
- Provide leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys.
- Collaborate on litigation involving trucking and motor vehicle matters, premises liability, surgical and medical-related cases, and other complex liability matters.
