Requirements
- Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Have 7-11 years of experience building ETL or ELT pipelines from scratch.
- Demonstrate strong command of relational databases, data modeling, and database design; PostgreSQL is preferred.
- Demonstrate strong command of Python and experience building production web applications using Python.
- Have experience with cloud-based services; AWS RDS is preferred.
- Have experience developing on or administering BI and data visualization platforms such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Mode, Data Studio, Domo, or QlikView.
- Have a basic understanding of data warehouses such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake.
- Demonstrate the ability to translate data into clear, actionable narratives for stakeholders.
- Be familiar with data catalog or data governance platforms such as OpenMetadata.
- Have experience building backend services using Python/FastAPI and designing scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Have mandatory experience authoring modern web applications using ReactJS and TypeScript, including reusable UI components and scalable frontend architecture.
- Be familiar with tool-calling agents, planning/execution loops, and RAG, and demonstrate the use of modern AI tools to improve velocity and code quality.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement data models in SQL.
- Collaborate with software engineers on sound, scalable implementations.
- Act as the team's technical expert on data.
- Introduce technologies to evolve data pipeline capabilities.
- Document data models, architectural decisions, and data dictionaries.
- Guide governance, code reviews, and access controls for analytics.
- Learn the application data schema and transform it to support customer decision-making.
- Advise product and development teams on instrumentation and product usage reporting.
- Complete projects with minimal guidance and collaborate when appropriate.
- Build scalable, high-performance infrastructure to deliver business insights from raw data sources.
