Requirements
- Have at least 5 years of data engineering experience on a major cloud provider, with responsibility for production systems.
- Demonstrate strong SQL skills and experience building, debugging, and optimizing complex dbt models, including incremental materializations, snapshots, and macros.
- Have solid experience ingesting data and orchestrating pipelines, including debugging, schema drift, recovery, backfills, and impact analysis.
- Write high-quality, tested Python with a focus on maintainability and reliability.
- Use Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD in day-to-day work.
- Work with a coding agent and critically review its output.
- Be rigorous, proactive, and willing to share knowledge and explain technical choices to technical and business teams.
- Be comfortable working in a partially remote team.
- Have English proficiency at B2 level or above.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve Composer, self-hosted Airbyte on GKE, BigQuery, dbt, and Terraform, including incident handling and analyst support.
- Design and improve technical and functional tests, monitoring, and alerting.
- Ingest data sources through Airbyte using APIs or CDC, manage schema changes, and maintain BigQuery external tables.
- Build reverse-ETL workflows and synchronize data across HubSpot, Gainsight, Intercom, and the real-time PostgreSQL database.
- Extend the MCP Analytics server to BigQuery and build the semantic layer for AI data access.
- Manage BigQuery slot reservations, dynamic dbt build routing, and monthly FinOps reviews.
- Apply least-privilege access and secure access to personal and sensitive data, including data used by AI.
