Job Details

Have a BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
Have 5+ years of experience building and operating backend services in production.
Demonstrate backend service design experience, including defining service boundaries, contracts, and data ownership.
Have business-level fluency in English to read, write, and speak.
Have experience working in a large, heavily coupled codebase and extracting or bypassing functionality incrementally behind behavior-preserving contracts.
Be fluent in TypeScript and Node, and comfortable with edge runtimes.
Have hands-on experience with monorepo tooling at scale, such as Nx or Turborepo, and understand build-graph correctness.
Have experience with migration work, including verifying generated output and preserving existing behavior.
Be comfortable working across cloud boundaries and evaluating workload placement, latency, and spend.
Be able to communicate decisions clearly in writing.

Design and build Nest.js service scaffolding for backend services in the next-generation monorepo.
Implement paved paths, generators, and platform primitives for new services.
Build ways for new services to run independently of the existing monolith.
Own deployment for services and web applications on Cloudflare and interoperability with AWS and Kubernetes managed through Pulumi and Argo CD.
Lead migrations of substantial codebases into the monorepo and make the process repeatable.
Partner with product teams as platform customers and use their adoption and friction to guide platform work.
Encode learnings into tooling, generators, and agent-assisted workflows.
Participate in engineering citizenship activities, including co-authoring engineering blogs, strengthening hiring processes, and leading internal hackathon teams.
