Requirements
- Have 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Use Go as your primary or preferred language.
- Have experience building integration, abstraction, or platform layers between legacy systems of record and modern consuming applications.
- Be comfortable working with transactional systems and/or payments.
- Have experience with event-driven architectures such as Kafka and CDC pipelines.
- Have experience provisioning cloud services in AWS or other providers.
- Hold a bachelor's degree, or have three years of specialized training and/or progressively responsible technology work experience for each missing year of college, in addition to the minimum experience required.
- Prior exposure to legacy core banking systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and build Go services that transform core banking system data into a consistent model for downstream applications.
- Partner with the Profile engineer and data engineers to define extraction points and design abstractions around the core data model and business-process mapping.
- Build and maintain APIs and/or event streams that let other teams access data without touching the core directly.
- Enforce data integrity, access boundaries, and schema versioning.
- Integrate with existing API endpoints maintained by other teams.
- Help determine whether data products should be delivered through batch, event-driven methods such as Kafka/CDC, or real-time APIs.
- Collaborate with data engineers to make new data products viewable and queryable downstream.
