Requirements
- Have prior experience as an editor, ideally editing online editorial-style content.
- Have expertise in grammar and writing style.
- Have expertise in financial fact-checking.
- Have strong organizational skills.
- Be able to self-motivate and stay on track to meet daily deadlines.
- Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Support the free website, fool.ca.
- Content-edit investing and retirement-planning articles for flow, interest, writing quality, and logical soundness.
- Copy edit articles for grammatical and spelling errors.
- Publish articles in WordPress after adding and checking metadata, including images, stock tickers, and stock ownership disclosures.
- Work with the managing editor to understand investing concepts and identify factual errors or potential compliance or regulatory concerns.
- Provide feedback to the managing editor about writers and the content being created.
- Give writers feedback to help improve their writing.
