Requirements
- Have 4+ years of professional experience writing production Go (Golang) for backend systems.
- Bring proven experience building and operating distributed backend systems in production.
- Understand backend architecture and API design.
- Have experience designing relational database schemas and working with SQL.
- Have experience building production web applications, services, and/or APIs.
- Be able to independently own technical problems from design through production.
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred: experience with PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines.
- Preferred: experience with API-driven development and observability tooling, including metrics, alerting, logging, and distributed/request tracing.
- Preferred: experience with Python or Python-based data pipelines.
- Preferred: experience in early-stage startups, particularly Seed through Series B, or in high-stakes or regulated domains such as fintech, security, identity, fraud, or risk.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate production backend systems using Go.
- Develop scalable, reliable APIs and distributed services.
- Design and evolve database schemas and data models.
- Build and maintain systems using SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Contribute to infrastructure, deployment, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with Kubernetes and cloud-native environments.
- Implement and improve observability through metrics, alerting, logging, and request tracing.
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and other stakeholders.
- Help shape technical architecture and engineering best practices.
