Requirements
- Several years of professional experience developing large-scale, scalable APIs and backend systems.
- Deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript.
- Strong experience with databases and data technologies such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse, Redis, or Kafka.
- Strong API design skills, including clear thinking about interfaces, architecture, and well-structured data models.
- High standards for stability, developer experience, performance, and code quality.
- Demonstrated ability to take end-to-end ownership of projects across technologies, services, and teams.
- Proactive communication skills in both German and English.
- Ability to communicate clearly and precisely in a remote and partially asynchronous environment.
- Experience with financial, stock market, or cryptocurrency data is a nice-to-have.
- Experience with LLMs and AI agents, particularly for processing large volumes of data, is a nice-to-have.
- Experience building backend systems for complex data dashboards and visualization products is a nice-to-have.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain the central API and backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Build efficient services that reliably deliver data and calculations and support client developers.
- Design APIs and data models for internal developers and end users.
- Scale backend systems and infrastructure while maintaining reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Develop and validate new products, services, and ideas through MVPs and technical experimentation.
- Take ownership of the internal API's stability, usability, performance, and continued evolution.
- Debug and resolve production issues across the technology stack.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, development processes, and technical practices.
- Work with frontend, design, and product teams to deliver projects.
- Own projects end to end, coordinating across technologies, services, and stakeholders.
