Requirements
- At least 9 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong commercial expertise in object-oriented programming.
- Advanced proficiency in Java and experience with at least one additional programming language, preferably C#.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka or comparable messaging systems, microservices, and event-driven application design.
- Understanding of scalable system design, architectural patterns, software maintainability, and modern engineering principles.
- Practical experience with AWS services and cloud-native application development.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and automated deployment processes.
- Experience with relational SQL databases and NoSQL technologies.
- Regular hands-on use of AI-powered coding or code-review assistants, including critically evaluating and validating their output.
- Ability to own complex technical challenges and work effectively with distributed teams in a remote environment.
- Ability to explain technical concepts, document decisions, and communicate recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor colleagues, provide constructive feedback, and guide technical discussions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable software using object-oriented programming principles.
- Contribute to technical strategy and architecture discussions, and modernize legacy applications.
- Integrate AI coding and review assistants into engineering workflows and evaluate their output.
- Design, maintain, and evolve Apache Kafka or other messaging infrastructure for event-driven systems.
- Develop and support cloud-based solutions using AWS services.
- Use Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and deployment automation to improve infrastructure and deployment practices.
- Build and maintain efficient data solutions using SQL and NoSQL technologies.
- Participate in rotational on-call responsibilities, monitor systems, investigate incidents, and improve resilience.
- Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams, maintain technical documentation, and contribute to code reviews.
- Mentor engineers, share expertise, and guide technical discussions.
