Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
- Have five or more years of network automation experience.
- Demonstrate strong Python development skills, including OOP, testing, and packaging.
- Understand networking fundamentals, including routing, switching, and BGP.
- Have hands-on experience with Netmiko, NAPALM, Nornir, or Scrapli.
- Have experience with modern network APIs, including NETCONF, RESTCONF, or gNMI.
- Have strong experience with Ansible and Jinja2 templating for network automation.
- Be familiar with NetBox, Nautobot, or other source-of-truth platforms.
- Have strong Git-based workflows and CI/CD experience.
- Cisco DevNet or vendor automation certifications are preferred.
- Multi-vendor network experience with Cisco, Arista, or Juniper is preferred.
- Familiarity with streaming telemetry and modern observability stacks is preferred.
- Open-source contributions to network automation projects are preferred.
- Cloud networking automation experience in addition to on-premises is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Automate network configuration, change management, and observability across multi-vendor enterprise networks.
- Build production-grade network automation using modern network APIs.
- Apply infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices to network operations.
- Translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions with cross-functional partners.
- Contribute to code reviews and design reviews.
- Mentor more junior engineers.
