Requirements

- A master’s degree in Linguistics, Middle Eastern Studies, Translation, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Professional experience in language teaching, translation, linguistic documentation, or community-based language work is an advantage.
- Work independently, manage assigned tasks, and deliver consistent evaluations in a remote freelance environment.
- Provide access to a secure computer and reliable high-speed internet; these are the contractor’s responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Interact with AI language models in Levantine Arabic across subjects and conversational scenarios.
- Evaluate vocabulary, phonetics, morphology, syntax, grammar, idioms, and regional dialect variations.
- Assess whether responses reflect cultural context, local references, conversational norms, and intended meaning.
- Identify and document failures in contextual interpretation, semantic accuracy, dialect distinctions, and cultural nuance.
- Produce clear, reproducible examples of linguistic errors for technical teams.
- Analyze model responses and explain linguistic judgments, corrections, and evaluation decisions.
- Recommend improvements to prompt engineering, language evaluation criteria, and assessment methods.
- Contribute linguistic expertise to the development of AI systems for Levantine Arabic speakers.
