Requirements

  • Have experience independently owning software product work from problem definition through launch and follow-up.
  • Provide clear examples of product decisions made and their outcomes.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment about prioritization and scope, including what not to build and when to change course.
  • Have experience working closely with designers and engineers on products with complex workflows, multiple user roles or competing stakeholder needs.
  • Be comfortable reasoning with data, evaluating what metrics indicate and making decisions with incomplete evidence.
  • Write clearly and communicate product decisions to technical and nontechnical people.
  • Be able to organize your work, surface risks early and close open questions in a distributed team.
  • Have an interest in education and patience to understand how learners, educators and administrators use software.
  • Education or education technology experience, including teaching, is a plus.
  • Experience with institutional customers, learning-platform integrations or product analytics is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Use user research, support patterns, partner feedback and business priorities to identify problems worth solving.
  • Define product goals, non-goals, acceptance criteria and dependencies, and work with engineering on capacity and feasibility.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering on product options and resolve questions as implementation progresses.
  • Define success measures, agree on tracking with engineering, and use results to guide next steps.
  • Coordinate partner, academic, support and leadership needs, including integration, privacy and operational constraints.
  • Test important workflows, prioritize defects and assess release readiness.
  • Coordinate launch communication and documentation with people close to the product and its users.
  • Review product use and feedback after launch and turn findings into improvements.
