Requirements
- Have experience in a civil or structural design and technical environment, such as consultancy, a design-and-build contractor, or a building products design and manufacturing business.
- Hold a civil engineering, structural engineering or construction-related qualification; a degree is preferred.
- Have accreditation to a professional body such as IStructE or ICE.
- Have working knowledge of Eurocode 2 design (EN 1992 Part 1-1).
- Have extensive knowledge of reinforced and precast concrete design and loadings; this is an advantage.
- Be proficient in AutoCAD and structural engineering and modelling software packages.
- SCIA and Allplan experience is ideal.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
- Be able to communicate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Be flexible and able to adapt and respond to change.
- Demonstrate the ability to motivate yourself and others to meet project deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Support the continued development and transformation of Marshalls Civils and Drainage, focusing on Engineered Solutions.
- Improve processes, systems, data and ways of working across engineering, design, operations, manufacturing, commercial and project teams.
- Provide engineering input for bespoke precast concrete solutions for energy, water management, wastewater and infrastructure projects.
- Interpret customer and project requirements for bespoke precast elements.
- Contribute to practical, manufacturable and commercially viable engineering solutions.
- Provide project and technical support for the development of bespoke precast elements.
