Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Have eight or more years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience.
- Bring deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
- Have hands-on experience with vSAN and storage policy management.
- Have experience with NSX-T or NSX-V networking.
- Demonstrate strong PowerCLI scripting skills and experience with automation tooling.
- Have familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms.
- Understand disaster recovery patterns and Site Recovery Manager (SRM).
- Have strong troubleshooting skills across compute, network, and storage layers.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP credentials are preferred.
- Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, GCVE, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), or Aria Operations / vRealize Operations is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design and operate VMware vSphere, vSAN, and NSX environments across data centers and hybrid cloud deployments.
- Build and maintain Tanzu Kubernetes Grid environments for containerized workloads.
- Implement vRealize / Aria Automation for self-service VM provisioning, lifecycle management, and policy enforcement.
- Operate NSX-T for software-defined networking, including micro-segmentation and load balancing.
- Manage vSAN clusters, storage policies, and storage performance for diverse workload classes.
- Implement disaster recovery and business continuity using Site Recovery Manager and replication.
- Build VMware infrastructure automation using PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible, and vRO.
- Design capacity management strategies, including right-sizing, reservation, and workload placement.
- Lead VMware upgrades, lifecycle management cycles, and security patching across the virtualization estate.
- Troubleshoot complex VMware issues across compute, network, and storage layers.
