Requirements
- Have 5+ years of backend engineering experience and strong Python expertise.
- Have deep AsyncIO proficiency and experience building non-blocking, high-reliability microservices.
- Have production-grade experience with FastAPI.
- Have experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL, including query design, schema understanding, and migration strategies.
- Have experience writing unit and integration tests; pytest is preferred.
- Be experienced in designing and consuming external APIs, including webhooks, callbacks, and complex retry policies.
- Be willing to take ownership of high-traffic, always-up applications and operate independently within an established architectural vision.
- Be comfortable working in complex distributed environments where reliability is non-negotiable.
- Have strong written and verbal English.
Responsibilities
- Read legacy PHP, Perl, or JavaScript code, extract its business logic, and reimplement it in a modern microservices architecture.
- Build reliable, scalable microservices and contribute to the evolution of the service layer architecture.
- Ensure idempotency, data integrity, and graceful error handling across services.
- Build new features and refactor legacy modules into clean, maintainable code.
- Design and consume external APIs, including webhooks, callbacks, and complex retry policies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments in agile sprints.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or Kubernetes infrastructure where relevant.
- Propose tools or technologies that can improve performance, security, or development speed.
