Requirements

  • Have 5+ years of management experience leading security teams.
  • Have 7+ years of hands-on experience in security operations, incident response, detection, or security engineering.
  • Show a track record of scaling a security function through rapid growth, including hiring, automation, and operating discipline.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking beyond the immediate scope of the role.
  • Translate technical risk into business impact for executives, Legal, customers, and IT and Product counterparts.
  • Be comfortable working in a global, remote-first environment with flexible schedules and on-call responsibilities.
  • Hands-on scripting or automation experience, such as Python or Go, is an advantage.
  • Experience applying AI or agent-based automation to security workflows is an advantage.
  • Cloud security experience and a background in M&A security integration are advantages.
  • Experience building an insider threat or identity assurance program is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead incident response end to end, from intake and severity model through after-action review and improvement.
  • Partner with Legal on investigations.
  • Lead detection engineering and threat hunting, and oversee the SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and cloud security platforms that support them.
  • Set Security Engineering strategy and deliver preventive controls, least privilege, and identity assurance across employees, contractors, and build systems.
  • Build the insider threat program with HR, Legal, and IT.
  • Use automation and agentic AI to extend analyst capacity while keeping analysts responsible for decisions.
  • Integrate acquired companies and new environments into EDB security standards.
  • Partner with IT and Product leadership to build preventive controls into their platforms, pipelines, and products.
  • Scale the program through org design, operating rhythms, roadmap, budget, and vendor strategy.
