Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in asset management, credit, or trading.
  • At least 5 years as a portfolio manager or CIO with P&L responsibility.
  • A track record managing a regulated fund or institutional mandate, ideally with $100M+ AUM.
  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of Bitcoin markets, BTC-collateralised lending, derivatives, and basis trades.
  • Working knowledge of DeFi mechanics, including lending protocols, liquidity pools, bridges, and their failure modes.
  • Strong fund governance experience, including offering documents, NAV and valuation, audits, and work with independent boards.
  • Existing relationships with crypto foundations, treasuries, or institutional allocators, and a record of raising capital.
  • Ability to meet director and key-person fitness and propriety standards in the fund’s jurisdiction, with a clean regulatory history.
  • Cayman fund and BVI Investment Management structure experience is a plus.
  • Structured credit or treasury management experience is a plus.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CFA, CAIA, FRM, PRM, or an equivalent regulatory licence are a plus.
  • Familiarity with Rootstock, Bitcoin L2s, or merged-mining ecosystems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set the fund’s investment strategy, allocation policy, and limits, and take them through board approval.
  • Source, diligence, and execute positions across BTC lending, basis, and on-chain yield strategies.
  • Conduct counterparty and protocol due diligence, including smart-contract, bridge, custody, and liquidation risk.
  • Build the risk framework, monitor positions daily, and stress-test for BTC price shocks, venue failure, and depeg events.
  • Report performance in BTC terms and maintain a liquidity profile aligned with investor redemption terms.
  • Raise capital from L1 foundations, ecosystem funds, and institutional allocators, and structure share classes, side letters, and terms.
  • Produce monthly investor reporting and quarterly letters, and lead investor calls and annual meetings.
  • Work with the board, independent directors, AML officers, administrator, auditor, and legal counsel on governance and compliance.
  • Own offering documents, valuation policy, and the NAV process alongside the administrator; manage service providers.
  • Hire and lead a small team as the fund scales, and represent the fund with L1 ecosystems.
