Job Details

Have 3+ years of direct U.S. medical billing experience spanning verification, prior authorizations, A/R, posting, and claims.
Know CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes, modifier applications, and medical terminology.
Be proficient in reviewing EOBs/ERAs, working denials, and navigating commercial payor portals.
Have excellent written and spoken English.
Know HIPAA regulations and maintain compliance when handling patient financial records.
Work independently with attention to detail and proactive follow-through.
Have a private, HIPAA-compliant office setup, high-performance computer, primary high-speed internet, backup power and internet, and a headset.
Recent hands-on experience with eClinicalWorks billing, eligibility, authorizations, posting, and A/R is strongly preferred.
Orthopedic medical billing and surgical or diagnostic authorization experience are strongly preferred.

Verify patient insurance coverage, determine prior authorization rules, compile clinical documentation, submit requests, and follow up through approval.
Document authorization numbers and validity dates in eClinicalWorks before patient encounters.
Work A/R aging reports and contact commercial and government payors about denied, unpaid, or underpaid claims.
Post line-item payments, contractual adjustments, and deductibles from EOBs/ERAs.
Scrub and submit primary and secondary claims, clear rejections, and prepare denial appeals or corrected claims.
Correct coding or demographic issues and resubmit clean claims.
Maintain accurate billing records and protect patient financial records in compliance with HIPAA.
