Requirements
- Have a BA/BS in life sciences, or a BA/BS in English combined with experience in a pharmaceutical agency, medical communications company, or healthcare advertising.
- Have a minimum of 9 years of experience in the medical communication, pharmaceutical, and/or healthcare industry.
- Have experience developing managed markets promotional content.
- Command American Medical Association (AMA) style.
- Be proficient with Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Be proficient with scientific search engines including PubMed and Google Scholar.
- Be able to translate complex scientific concepts for a variety of managed care audiences.
- Be able to prioritize deadline-sensitive projects and manage competing client priorities.
- Preferred: advanced degree in life sciences, such as a PharmD or PhD.
- Preferred: expertise gathering, evaluating, and summarizing healthcare business and scientific literature and insights data for managed care audiences.
- Preferred: working knowledge of managed markets, healthcare delivery systems, health reform legislation, and/or managed care experience such as HMO, MCO, or PBM.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Clinical Services content development for multiple large books of business, typically 5–7 assigned accounts depending on size.
- Independently develop and lead Clinical Services initiatives such as onboarding, student recruitment, or innovation.
- Mediate and resolve escalated issues between internal and external stakeholders.
- Act as medical lead in creating and presenting brand planning, strategic development, and tactical plans for assigned accounts and new business opportunities.
- Ensure account-specific Clinical Services standard operating procedures are developed and maintained, and conduct account and department training as needed.
- Plan and allocate resources across accounts and workstreams with internal stakeholders.
- Provide timely feedback and coaching to direct and indirect reports, including tracking personal development plans.
- Supervise 6+ Clinical Services team members directly and indirectly, including at least one Senior Medical Director or two or more Medical Directors.
