Requirements
- Hold a BA/BS in life sciences, or a BA/BS in English combined with experience in a pharmaceutical agency, medical communications company, or healthcare advertising.
- Have at least 9 years of experience in medical communications, pharmaceutical, and/or healthcare.
- Have experience developing managed markets promotional content.
- Demonstrate command of American Medical Association (AMA) style.
- Be proficient with Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Be proficient with scientific search engines including PubMed and Google Scholar.
- Translate complex scientific concepts for varied managed care audiences.
- Bring strong analytic ability and self-management, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Prioritize deadline-sensitive projects and competing client priorities.
- Preferred: advanced degree in life sciences, such as a PharmD or PhD.
- Preferred: expertise gathering, evaluating, and summarizing healthcare business and scientific literature and insights data for managed care audiences.
- Preferred: working knowledge of managed markets, healthcare delivery, health reform legislation, and/or managed care experience such as HMO, MCO, or PBM.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Clinical Services content development for multiple large books of business, typically 5–7 assigned accounts.
- Lead Clinical Services initiatives such as onboarding, student recruitment, and innovation.
- Mediate and resolve escalated issues between internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead medical input for brand planning, strategic development, and tactical plans for assigned accounts and new business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain account-specific Clinical Services standard operating procedures and conduct account and department training as needed.
- Plan and allocate resources across accounts and workstreams with internal stakeholders.
- Provide performance feedback and coaching to direct and indirect reports, and track personal development plans.
- Supervise 6+ Clinical Services team members, including at least one Senior Medical Director or two or more Medical Directors.
