Requirements
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Have a minimum of five years' experience in the electric utility industry.
- Have direct experience with electric utility substation projects.
- Have utility substation engineering experience focused on electrical or physical design.
- Be able to support substation projects ranging from 4kV to 345kV.
- AutoCAD and/or MicroStation proficiency is a plus.
- FE certification is a plus, with ambition to obtain Professional Engineering licensure (PE).
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop substation general arrangements, control house layouts, plans, and sections.
- Design grounding and lightning protection systems.
- Prepare conduit and trench layouts and material lists.
- Prepare calculations for grounding, lightning protection, voltage drop, and AC/DC load studies.
- Support and coordinate engineering and design related to civil and structural aspects.
- Coordinate with Protection and Control.
- Perform quality control and quality assurance reviews.
- Support projects from scoping through final design and project closeout, including construction support.
- Interface with clients and other disciplines.
