Requirements
- PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant biomedical, clinical, or life sciences field.
- 5+ years of experience evaluating clinical and pre-clinical evidence in academic, industry, or clinical research.
- Demonstrated ability to make and defend adopt/reject decisions on therapeutics, supplements, ingredients, or medical devices.
- Ability to produce concise, structured evidence reviews that non-scientists can act on.
- Comfort working at startup speed with high autonomy and demand from multiple teams simultaneously.
- Background in longevity, metabolic health, women's health, nutrition science, supplement or food formulation, diagnostics, or pharma R&D is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI/LLM-assisted research tools and calibrating them against expert judgment is preferred.
- Clinical practice exposure or close partnership with practicing physicians is preferred.
- Experience operating as a horizontal scientific function supporting multiple business units is preferred.
- Published peer-reviewed work in a relevant domain is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Set the evidence bar for protocols, products, ingredients, and interventions across the businesses, with a defensible rationale for adopting, rejecting, or monitoring each.
- Lead structured scientific reviews of new products, therapeutics, formulations, and protocols, including written justification and risk assessment.
- Partner with business development, operations, product, and clinical teams to prioritize research and finalize clinical sign-off.
- Define and raise the scientific standards of the AI research engine and calibrate its scores against expert reviews.
- Monitor literature in longevity, metabolic health, pharma, women's health, nutrition science, diagnostics, and home health, and flag emerging evidence.
- Mentor team members on reading evidence and communicating it in accessible language.
- Vet products and protocols for the concierge longevity practice, prospective collaborators, product ingredients and formulations, therapeutics, and optimized lab panels.
