Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or accounting.
  • Hands-on expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills, including building complex models from scratch.
  • Experience with scenario and sensitivity analysis, variance analysis, and identifying business drivers.
  • Experience with cash flow and working capital management, including unbilled AR and contract burn.
  • Experience with project P&L, gross margin, indirect cost rates, and pricing analysis for bids, proposals, and renewals.
  • Experience tracking utilization, backlog, and contract performance, and preparing management reports and board decks.
  • Experience with accounting systems and ERPs, such as QuickBooks Online or comparable systems.
  • A track record of owning process improvements and documentation.
  • Ability to explain financial results clearly to non-finance audiences and partner with project managers and executives.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight; familiarity with Slack and Google Workspace.
  • Preferred: experience building KPI dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Preferred: comfort using AI tools and automation, including scripting, to streamline workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run the annual budget and monthly rolling forecast process.
  • Maintain financial models and document their logic.
  • Prepare monthly variance reports that explain significant variances, drivers, and recommended actions.
  • Monitor cash, working capital, unbilled accounts receivable, and contract burn risks.
  • Create and track project-level P&Ls and gross margin analysis.
  • Build pricing models for bids, proposals, and renewals.
  • Educate project managers and executives on financial results and recommended actions.
  • Map finance workflows and identify opportunities for automation.
  • Work with engineering on company-wide AI initiatives.
  • Document new or changed processes so others can run them.
