Have 1-3 years of professional experience as a backend or full-stack developer in any language.
Have strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, debugging, and problem-solving.
Demonstrate the ability to learn new languages and frameworks quickly.
Have experience building and consuming REST APIs.
Have familiarity with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Be comfortable working independently in a remote environment and communicating proactively.
Be comfortable asking questions, receiving feedback, and building toward greater ownership.
Java and Spring or Spring Boot knowledge is a plus, but is not required.
Exposure to AWS or another major cloud provider is a plus.
Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
Exposure to microservices architecture is a plus.

Design, build, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using the Java/Spring Boot stack.
Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
Design relational database schemas, write queries, and troubleshoot data issues.
Deploy and support services running on AWS, following existing infrastructure patterns.
Debug and resolve production issues, escalating and collaborating with the team lead as needed.
Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate ramp-up and day-to-day delivery.
Collaborate with the engineering lead and product and QA partners to scope and ship features.
Learn the codebase, engineering practices, and domain while growing toward more independent ownership.
