Requirements
- Hold an active, unrestricted NP license with full practice authority in your state.
- Complete any applicable transition-to-practice hours required for independent practice.
- Have an active NPI number.
- Maintain board certification in good standing.
- Have no exclusions from federal healthcare programs (OIG/SAM).
- Have current malpractice coverage (occurrence-form or claims-made with tail coverage), or be willing to obtain it.
- Have your own EMR with the ability to add PeteDME's clinical templates.
- Be comfortable with telehealth platforms and independent, high-volume encounter work.
- Work as an independent contractor under a written, fixed-term agreement; credentialing and license verification are required before the first encounter.
- Currently being employed by or contracted with an agency that provides in-home services is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience with Medicare and commercial payer documentation requirements is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent telehealth encounters with patients.
- Perform clinical evaluations and document medical necessity per payer documentation standards.
- Issue orders and prescriptions within scope of practice and state law.
- Maintain complete, compliant clinical documentation for each encounter.
- Respond to documentation requests in the event of an audit or claims review.
