Requirements

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a relevant combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Bring five years of relevant experience as a business analyst in insurance, commercial business lines, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrate experience with the Guidewire software suite for workers’ compensation and/or property and casualty insurance.
  • Understand SAFE Agile delivery practices and have experience working in a rapid SAFE Agile environment.
  • Gather requirements, communicate product design, and deliver results within specified timeframes.
  • Manage multiple assignments and implement projects.
  • Perform complex data analysis and data mapping, and support business intelligence, reporting, analytical, and data visualization needs.
  • Create data flow diagrams, data models, use case diagrams, activity diagrams, and workflow diagrams using Visio or other tools.
  • Apply logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Review business requirements against applications to identify deviations from customer expectations.
  • Demonstrate triage, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Support projects using a variety of project management methodologies, including bi-modal approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Gather business requirements and translate them into business process specifications and application or operational functionality.
  • Create functional specifications, JIRA features, user stories, and acceptance criteria for development teams.
  • Coordinate with project management on timelines, project plans, requested changes, tasks, and resource responsibilities.
  • Track work progress, document decisions and resolutions, and coordinate go-live activities with stakeholders.
  • Facilitate meetings and conference calls, prepare presentations, and address stakeholder concerns.
  • Work with technical staff to translate requirements into application architecture and system functionality documentation.
  • Partner with operational teams to update documentation and processes for offered products.
  • Document project objectives, decisions, accomplishments, and deliverables in Confluence.
  • Represent the business or project as a subject matter expert for the designated work stream.
  • Work with the product team on product strategy, roadmaps, and release management processes.
