Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field; a relevant combination of education and experience may be considered instead.
  • Have five years of relevant experience as a business analyst in insurance, commercial business lines, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrate experience with the GuideWire software suite for workers’ compensation and/or property and casualty insurance.
  • Apply SAFE Agile delivery practices and procedures in a rapid Agile environment.
  • Gather requirements, communicate product design, and deliver results within specified timeframes.
  • Manage multiple assignments and implement projects.
  • Perform complex data analysis and data mapping, supporting business intelligence, reporting, analytics, and data visualization needs.
  • Create data flow diagrams, data models, use case, activity, and workflow diagrams using Visio or other tools.
  • Review business requirements against applications to identify deviations from customer expectations.
  • Demonstrate triage, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Support projects using a variety of project management methodologies, including bi-modal approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements from business owners and translate them into business process specifications and application or operational functionality.
  • Create functional specifications, JIRA features, user stories, and acceptance criteria for development teams.
  • Work with technical staff to translate business requirements into application architecture and system functionality documents.
  • Coordinate with project management on project plans, timelines, tasks, resources, and schedule impacts.
  • Facilitate meetings and presentations with business owners and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track project progress, document decisions and resolutions, and coordinate go-live activities.
  • Create and update project documentation, including objectives, decisions, accomplishments, and deliverables, in Confluence.
  • Represent the business or project as a subject matter expert for the designated work stream.
  • Work with product teams on product strategy, roadmaps, and release management processes.
