Requirements
- 5+ years of professional QA experience, with a track record testing complex web applications.
- Strong expertise in modern QA methodologies and test design techniques, including equivalence partitioning and boundary value analysis.
- Knowledge of the full Software Development Life Cycle and Software Testing Life Cycle.
- Experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum or Kanban.
- Practical database testing experience, including complex SQL queries for relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Foundational test automation experience with tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.
- Ability to read and understand JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python code to support test analysis and automation initiatives.
- Strong experience with API testing and backend validation.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a methodical approach to testing.
- Communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with developers, product owners, and QA teams.
- Self-management skills and an ownership mindset suited to a fully remote working environment.
Responsibilities
- Own the QA lifecycle, from requirements analysis and testability reviews through test strategy, test design, execution, and release-readiness reporting.
- Perform manual functional, integration, regression, compatibility, and exploratory testing across complex web applications.
- Design test cases and checklists using QA methodologies and test design techniques.
- Conduct API testing with tools such as Postman and validate backend functionality and business logic.
- Write and execute complex SQL queries to verify data integrity, backend behavior, and test data setup and teardown.
- Identify, document, isolate, and track defects, and work with developers to investigate issues and verify fixes.
- Participate in requirements and grooming sessions, providing feedback on testability, risks, and quality concerns.
- Improve QA processes, tools, methodologies, and testing practices; share testing knowledge and best practices with the team.
- Support future automation initiatives by applying knowledge of testing frameworks and understanding application code.
